What:  White River District Cub Scout Day Camp

When:  Wednesday, June 13th through Friday, June 15th, 8am-4pm and Saturday, June 16th, 8am-12noon

Where:  Future Fuel Park, west of Batesville

What Else:  $50 per youth and $20 per adult and $20 per adult, includes a t-shirt and patch to first 75 kids.  For boys from 1st to 5th grade and 1 adult per 5 boys.  Saturday will be a fishing derby (bring your own bait, fishing poles and bagged lunches.  For more information, contact Jacob Landers at 501-664-4780, extension 234.

Where:  Brownsville Baptist Church, Highway 92 and Brownsville Road

What Else:  Blast off with adventure-filled Bible stories, create wonderful space crafts and experience fun music.  Children from Kindergarten to 6th grade are welcome.

 

What:  Surf the Bay

When:  Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th

Where:  On the ‘North Shore’ of beautiful Greers Ferry Lake, Fairfield Bay Marina

What:  ‘Craftsfest’ Semi-Annual Craft Show

When:  Friday, June 15th, 9am-5pm and Saturday, June 16th, 9am-4pm

Where:  Baxter County Fairgrounds, Mountain Home

What:  2nd Annual Tyler Lewis Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament

When:  Saturday, June 16th

Where:  Midland High School Softball Field, Pleasant Plains

What Else:  $10 for wash only, $15 for wash and dip.  Vaccinations at reduced cost.  Nail trims $5 per animal.

Where:  First Baptist Church parking lot, 610 Main Street, Batesville

What Else:  There will be free hot dogs, drinks, chips, cotton candy and other goodies.  A huge bounce house, face painting and games will also be available.

What:  Veteran’s Appreciation Day and 9th Annual POW-MIA Recognition Poker Run

When:  Saturday, June 16th, 8:30am

Where:  Searcy Event Center, 1306 Higginson Street, Searcy

What:  ‘Operation Overboard’ Vacation Bible School

When:  Monday, June 18th through Thursday, June 21st, 9-11:20am and Friday, June 22nd, 9am-12noon

Where:  Central Avenue United Methodist Church, 1205 North Central Avenue, Batesville

What Else:  For children age 3 to grade 6.  Children must have had their 3rd birthday by June 17th.  

 

What:  Summer Reading Program

When:  Friday, June 1st through Saturday, July 28th

Where:  Independence County Library, 368 East Main Street, Batesville

What Else:  Preschoolers through 6th graders are welcome to join and pledge to read library books this summer.  Receive a prize every week for reading books, and receive a certificate and a grand prize at the end of the program.  Be sure to attend Story Hour each Tuesday, too.  Preschoolers come at 10am and grade schoolers come at 2pm for an hour of stories, videos, crafts and even some live performances.  For more information, call 870-793-8814.
