What:  Barbecue Pork Fundraiser

When:  Friday, September 20th, 10:30am-1pm

Where:  Cooperative Extension Office, 1770 Meyers, Batesville

What Else:  Meal will include coleslaw, baked beans, potato chips, cookies and a bottle of water for $7.  Proceeds to benefit Independence County’s Extension Homemaker Clubs.

 

What:  6th Annual Car Show

When:  Saturday, September 21st

Where:  Riverside Park, Batesville

Where:  Batesville VFW, corner of Myers and Chaney Drive

What Else:  Parking will be available on VFW property for a donation.  They will also be selling chicken dinners for $5 a plate.  Meal will consist of barbecue chicken and you choose 2 sides.  Dinners will be available beginning at 1pm.

 

What:  ‘Get the Scoop on Girl Scouts’ Ice Cream Social

When:  Saturday, September 21st, 9:30am-11:30am

What:  Ozark Foothills FilmFest ‘Fais Do-Do’ Fundraiser

When:  Saturday, September 21st, 7pm film screening

Where:  Fellowship Bible Church (Landers), Main Street, Batesville

What:  Fish Fry Catfish Dinner Fundraiser

When:  Saturday, September 28th, 11am-4pm

Where:  Humane Society of Independence County, #5 Environmental Drive, Batesville

What Else:  Dinner includes catfish with all the trimmings and a drink and will cost a $5 donation.  There will be food for up to 200 people.  Thousand Hills Veterinary Clinic will be holding a vaccination clinic during the fish fry.  Do-it-yourself dog baths and dipping available.  For more information, call 870-793-0090.

 

What:  Fortepiano Recital and Workshop

When:  Saturday, September 28th

Where:  Bevens Music Room, Lyon College

What Else:  Fortepianist Dr. Janice Wenger will host a lecture and workshop at 1:30pm.  She will also have a recital at 7:30pm.  The events are free and open to the public. 

 

What:  Fall Horse Tales Ride or Walk for Literacy

When:  Saturday and Sunday, September 28th and 29th

Where:  Rafter D Ranch, 7950 Central Avenue, Mt. Pleasant

What:  A memorial fund has been set up at the Bank of Cave City in memory of Robert Hutchins from Maple Springs for his wife, Christy and their 6 children.  Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.

 

What:  A benefit account has been set up for Misty Burton and her 3 ½ year old son Parker at FNBC to help with funeral and living costs.  Misty’s husband James died In a motorcycle accident on September 7th.  Donations can be made at any FNBC branch or can be mailed to any branch to the attention of Misty Burton Benefit Account.
