What Else: A nationwide event that highlights to the public what wonderful work that the Humane Society of Independence County and other shelters throughout the country do to provide in helping to find homes and save lives through adoption. The humane society will be showcasing many adoptable dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. During the event, not only will the adoption fee be reduced to $50, but every person who adopts a pet will receive a gift of pet supplies and food valued at more than $100. Adoptable pets will have been spayed/neutered, received all vaccinations (including rabies) and are on heartworm preventive.
